The team’s first test under their new staff was a friendly against Posidonas Michaniona. PAOK were well prepared to withstand their rivals’ pressure, found space to launch their attacks and scored in the 74th minute with a powerful strike by Koutousis. A most welcome win in their fifth friendly encounter ahead of the new league starting shortly.
PAOK dominated the encounter and wasted several chances to win by a more handsome margin. In the 35th minute, following a fine combination by Argyriou and Efthymiou, Chatzidimpas’ shot was met by the goalkeeper. Ten minutes into the second half, Argyriou was denied by the post. On the hour, Konstantinou teed-up by Kapretsos sent his shot just wide.
In the 70th minute, PAOK goalkeeper Siampanis produced an excellent save to deny the rival striker who had the goal at his mercy.
