PAOK FC president Mr. Iakovos Angelidis issued the following statement:

“On the occasion of the league’s break, marking the completion of the season’s first half, I would like to address myself to our supporters, who understandably are wondering about PAOK FC’s stance in specific issues.

Let me first congratulate Angelos Anastasiadis and the footballers, who have played to their physical and mental limits in most of our encounters and keep PAOK at the top of the standings. From our part, we will support their effort in the best possible way always aiming for the best. They are to be commended for their composure and self-control towards referees.

It is obvious that PAOK leading the race is an inconvenient to many. The system, by now officially accused by judicial authorities, is reacting relentlessly. Greek referees should know that PAOK will chase away all those who served shadowy bosses when the names of the accused are unveiled, hopefully soon.

The Greek Federation and the Central Refereeing Committee should know that we keep quiet by choice and our stance should not be misconstrued as weakness – on the contrary, it is our force. They cannot even fathom how unruly their retreat will be shortly.

The sports justice should also know that they will be held accountable for their belated –to the point of suspicion- reaction.

All those who wish to create problems to PAOK’s dynamics and unity should also know that we all, from the owner to the last supporter, have a common goal: PAOK being a contender in a clean Greek football.

That is my wish for 2015. Health and happiness to all and Merry Christmas”.

In appreciation,
Iakovos Angelidis
