Dimitris Salpingidis spoke to reporters after the final whistle of the encounter at Livadia:

About PAOK leading the league race: We try to change the usual scenery in Greek football and we are happy that our efforts are paying off. I hope we will continue like this, but without so many injuries”.

About the encounter and PAOK’s retreat: “I am not looking for excuses, but the referee did award many fouls in favour of Levadiakos. He would blow his whistle in every minor touch and I am astonished he would do that all the time. Forgive me for saying so, but that was a determining factor –along with our fatigue– that defined the complexion of the encounter. We had several players missing, we were forced into substitutions and it’s not easy to handle all that stuff… Add to that our nerves from the refereeing decisions”.

When asked if PAOK’s morale is boosted, he said: “We are at a point when several things go wrong. We were not that bad at PAS Giannina, yet lost 3-0. The same happened at Xanthi. Today we were more alert and that is the way to go. Congratulations to all my teammates”.

About the league break: “It will help us, as several players will recover and return to action. We shouldn’t say that we are going for the league title, but we know we can achieve important feats”.
