The injury sustained by PAOK U16 player Lazaros Efthymiadis cast a shadow over the team’s comfortable 4-0 defeat of Achilleas Perea, as the EPSM League’s second round of fixtures kicked off this weekend.

During a ball chanllenge in the 10th minute, Efthymiadis fell outside the pitch, on a cement-covered spot. The match was interrupted for 10 minutes and Efthymiadis was taken to the hospital, where it was confirmed that he suffered injuries in his hands, but thankfully his condition is not serious.

PAOK opened their scoring account in the 14th minute, with Mylonas lobbing the ball over the rival goalkeeper, following a through-pass by Meletidis. Mylonas completed his brace in the 48th minute with a close range tap-in. Papathanasiou and Kontothanasis combined beautifully five minutes later and Mylonas teed up Papathanasiou who made it 3-0 from close up. A fine finish from inside the box by Kontothanasis sealed PAOK’s 4-0 victory in the 85th minute.
