The Central Refereeing Committee appointed referee Alexandros Aretopoulos from Trikala for Wednesday’s encounter between Olympiacos and PAOK. He will be accompanied by Leonidas Fragiadakis (Dodecanese) and Nikolaos Georgarakos (Athens). Michalis Koukoulakis (Heraklion) will act as fourth official, while Ilias Mazarakos (Arta) will be the referee observer.

The 35-year old referee from Trikala was promoted to Super League in the 2010-11 season. He officiated a total of 10 games that season, among them the following: Kerkyra-PAOK 2-1, Olympiacos – Olympiacos Volos 3-1 and Olympiakos – SKODA Xanthi 1-0. In 2011-12, he refereed 13 encounters, including Asteras Tripolis – PAOK 1-0, PAS Giannina – PAOK 2-2, Levadiakos – Olympiacos 0-4 and Kerkyra – PAOK 0-4.

In 2012-13, he was assigned 11 encounters, among them the following: Aris – Olympiacos 2-2, PAOK – Platanias 2-0, AEK – PAOK 0-0 and Kerkyra – Olympiacos 0-1. Last season he took charge of 15 matches, including Veria-PAOK 1-2, Olympiacos – PAS Giannina 3-2, SKODA Xanthi – Olympiacos 0-2, PAOK – OFI 5-0. In the current season he has handled three matches: Panthrakikos – PAS Giannina 1-1, Platanias – Panathinaikos 2-3 and Veria – Levadiakos 2-1.
