Angelos Anastasiadis talked to Novasports TV ahead of PAOK’s league encounter on Sunday against Panthrakikos. Here is what the “Double-Headed Eagle” coach had to say about the Minsk match and what he will ask of his players against the Komotini side.
His thoughts after the Minsk match:
“We had one aim and achieved it. Regardless of other results in our group, we still need to win our last match to remain in European competition. The talk about Europe is over however. Now we need to focus on Panthrakikos. This is the match that we should think about, as our last league game ended in home defeat. We must display high concentration and discipline in order to avoid another negative result. We have already lost 5 points in Toumba”.
About the injuries’ concern:
“My main concern is our performance against Panthrakikos on Sunday. It’s just 72 hours after the Minsk match and time is against us. We played on Thursday evening, we also had a lengthy trip, it’s a tough situation to handle. We need to be extremely focused to get all three points against Panthrakikos”.
About Panthrakikos:
“I watched them against Olympiacos and that is the match we need to focus on”.
What he will ask his players to do on Sunday:
“What I always ask them since summer. Nothing changes. When we deviate from our plans, it shows. It shows on the result, it shows on our performance. We always ask the players to stick to the game plan and keep our high standards”.
