Following their emphatic 4-0 victory over OFI Crete on matchday 5 of the Super League, PAOK lead the standings alone, with 13 points and having dropped just two, in the opening match against AEL Kalloni.

Last time PAOK were at the top of the standings alone was back in December 2002, after their 4-3 victory over AEK at Nea Filadelfia.

The standings at that point of season 2002-’03 were as follows:

1. PΑΟΚ 21
2. Olympiacos 20
3. Panathinaikos 19
4. Iraklis 18
5. Aris 18
