Training match against the U20s
PAOK seniors faced the club’s U20s on Saturday at Nea Mesimvria, in a hard-fought training match. Igor Tudor’s players prevailed 3-1, courtesy of two spot kicks by Berbatov and a header by Malezas. Deligiannidis netted the U20s’ goal.
Vladan Ivić’s troops scored the opener in the first half with a shot by Deligiannidis and could have increased their lead had Κakko not been denied by woodwork. The seniors also had a shot on post with Jairo and then leveled through a spot kick by Dimitar Berbatov, after Miguel Vítor was brought down in the box.
After the interval, referee Dimitris Daniilidis pointed to the spot again for a handfoul by Ricardo Costa (featuring for the U20s) and Berbatov stepped to convert it again. Stelios Malezas’s header made it 3-1 for the seniors following a cross by Garry Rodrigues.
Malezas started the match for the U20s and switched sides in the interval with Ricardo Costa. In the second half, Deligiannidis took Marin Leovac’s place, the latter coming from injury and featuring only for one half, out of precaution.
Terry Antonis played the whole match, while Panagiotis Glykos and Gojko Cimirot went through personalized training. Giannis Skondras was absent due to a viral infection.
