«My only aim is to establish myself»
Charis Charisis features in the first issue of Toumba Magazine, that is on sale at PAOK FC Official Stores and on store.paokfc.gr.
The young midfielder spoke to PAOK FC official magazine on how he decided to come to Toumba, on his objectives with the “Double-Headed Eagle” and the injuries that held him back in the first half of the season.
Read part of Charis Charisis’s interview in Toumba Magazine and don’t miss the first collector’s edition, focused on the club’s 90th anniversary.
On his move to PAOK:
There was no discussion on the financial aspect of the deal. Whatever they suggested, I said “yes” despite having room to negotiate. But I told my manager not to. When PAOK show they want you, you must prove ten times that you are eager to put on their shirt! I don’t blame anyone for thinking differently or choosing a different patch. But showing that one’s only aim is to explore financially their talent for the next 20 years makes for a profile that I would hate to have. I believe in myself. I know that, if I keep healthy, I will have fulfilled all my dreams by the time I hang up my boots.
On his ambitions:
My only aim is to establish myself at PAOK. I want to become a vital cog for the team.
On his injuries and streak of bad luck:
Luck, good or bad, is something that we chase after, not the other way round. I don’t feel unlucky, because that’s part of football. It just sets me back a bit. I need to work a lot. With the schedule, the pace and the intensity increasing steadily, I need to improve my bodily strength. I work intensely so that I won’t get injured again.
