Garry Rodrigues lands MVP title for matchday 4
In the first high-profile match of the season, the star player was destined to take pole position in the MVP poll. Garry Rodrigues shone against AEK Athens and earned the public’s vote.
With his goal and overall performance at Toumba, Garry Rodrigues earned the first individual award for PAOK in Super League’s polls this season. His display against AEK Athens was the sequel of what he did at Qäbälä FC –evidence that the Cape Verde midfielder is adjusting nicely to the new position that Igor Tudor has been fielding him.
He featured as winger for Elche in the Primera División, but now he has turned into a modern full-wing player covering the whole left flank and helping in the creative part of the game, thanks to his ability in one-on-one situations.
Rodrigues received 29,39% of the vote to leapfrog Jimmy Durmaz of Olympiacos who remained second with 27,26%. Cristian Chávez of PAS Giannina was third (15,2%).
