On the occasion of Greece’s War of Independence Day, PAOK FC President Mr. Ivan Savvidis sent the following message:
“Esteemed fellow Greeks!
Greeks all over the world celebrate on 25 March our national day, the Day of Greek Independence. For each and every one of us, this day is a symbol of glory, an example of the insuperable courage of our people, their heroism and their selfless love for our country.
We will always remember that Greece’s liberation from the ottoman rule came with a high price. Thousands of patriots gave their lives to ensure our country’s freedom.
Let us prove worthy of their feat, especially now that Greece is going through hardship. It’s our sacred duty in their memory!
On this day of remembrance, I wish you all good health, lasting peace, prosperity, unity and success to the advantage of Greece in the name of justice and humanity!”
