Giorgos Kominis is the first Greek referee that PAOK meet this season, as he has been appointed for their opening Super League encounter against AEL Kalloni. The Thesprotia referee returns to Toumba after season 2011-12, when he was assigned two games of the “Double-Headed Eagle” (PAOK-Asteras Tripolis 2-3 and PAOK-Atromitos 1-2 for the Greek Cup). His last PAOK match was the eventful 1-1 draw against Aris at “Kleanthis Vikelidis” last season, that resulted to PAOK FC’s strong indignation towards him and the Central Refereeing Committee.
That was the only PAOK match that Kominis officiated last season. Apart from the afore-mentioned encounters at Toumba, he had also taken charge of the following: OFI-PAOK 0-2 (2011-12) and Panionios-PAOK 1-2 (2012-13). Last season he was also appointed fourth official at Panthrakikos-PAOK, Atromitos-PAOK and SKODA Xanthi-PAOK.
Kominis will be accompanied by Konstantinos Pontikis (Preveza), Christos Magiannis (Arta), with Gerasimos Ditsos (Preveza) acting as fourth official . Thanasis Vellios (Xanthi) will be the referee observer.
