U12s win the Marc Overmars tournament
The first international accolade for PAOK’s Youth sections was achieved by the U12s. The diminutive players of the “Double-Headed Eagle” prevailed undefeated in the Marc Overmars tournament in the Netherlands. PAOK feature the MVP and best goalkeeper of the tournament.
PAOK U12s won the renowned Marc Overmars tournament, after prevailing 6-5 over AZ in a penalty shootout. It was a spectacular procedure of high standards for such young kids. The final ended goalless in regulation time.
PAOK’s minnows were impressive throughout the tournament that took place in Epe, Marc Overmars’s birthplace. They scored 22 goals and conceded just once. Giorgos Koutsias was the MVP of the tournament, while Νikos Botis won the Best Goalkeeper award.

The troops of Apostolos Papavasiliou and Dimitris Taxidis dismissed one by one all obstacles leading to the final. On the first day of the tournament, they prevailed 3-1 over PSV Eindhoven, 3-0 over Everton FC, 3-0 over KRC Genk and 6-0 over Epe. On the following day, they cruised to victories over Malmö FF (3-0) and Vitesse Arnhem (4-0).
