“A historic day for PAOK”
He has spent big part of his life and career at Toumba, as player and as coach. Giorgos Georgiadis spoke to paokfc.gr about the final payment of PAOK FC’s debts by Mr. Ivan Savvidis and about the play-off fixtures.
“Today is a historic day for PAOK”, the “Double-Headed Eagle’s” coach said. “It’s a day of redemption. All of us who experienced tough times in the club, we understand only too well the importance of disentangling PAOK from the burdens of the past”.
From now on, thanks to Mr. Ivan Savvidis, great prospects are opening up for PAOK. The team can develop at all levels, get stronger, get better organized and build their future confidently on solid ground.
Paying off the debts is also very important from a psychological point of view to everyone on the team. It provides an additional motive to enhance our efforts, achieve our goals and contribute to PAOK’s sporting evolution as well”.
Regarding the play-offs, Giorgos Georgiadis said: “The sequence of fixtures isn’t decisive. It’s a series of encounters, these are not knock-out games. It’s important for us to play as we know how, produce attractive football and achieve our objective, that being claim first place. Proceedings on the pitch will dictate if a team’s schedule is favourable or not”.
