The encounter of PAOK at Platanias proved that Giannis Skondras is in great form in the beginning of the season. After featuring as central defender in the two ties against Zimbru Chișinău, a role that Angelos Anastasiadis intends to give him more often, the 24-year old played in his natural right full back post at Chania and he was impressive. Incessant running, initiating plays from his wing, serving an assist and netting his first goal for PAOK in the Super League.

His strong performance didn’t go unnoticed by the fans, whose vote landed him the MVP award for matchday 2, in the contest organized by Nova. The “Double-Headed Eagle” player got 49,08% of the vote, leaving Mladen Petrić of Panathinaikos behind (32,4%).
