After Sunday’s light schedule that also included their first morning off, it was expected that Monday would see the players train more intensively. In the morning, the “Double-Headed Eagle” players went through muscle strengthening drills in the gym split into two groups. In the afternoon, they worked on the pitch.
The afternoon session included a half-pitch training match under tactical guidance, continuous pressing, position switching and reduced touches of the ball, with the squad split into three groups. The training match ended with the “reds” prevailing thanks to a goal by Stefanos Athanasiadis following an assist by Eyal Golasa.
Greek internationals Dimitris Salpingidis, Alexandros Tziolis, Giorgos Tzavellas and Panagiotis Glykos are following their own adjustment program. Kyriakos Savvidis didn’t train in the evening as it was deemed necessary for him to rest, while Răzvan Raț did recuperation work due to a thigh strain.
