He has pace, is explosive and tactically astute to know exactly how to move when in possession of the ball. Róbert Mak decided the encounter against Panetolikos last Monday and earned the Fans’ Man of the Match award for a second consecutive Super League game.
The Slovakian attacking midfielder was awarded a penalty after being brought down by Koutromanos and converted it. A few minutes later, he created havoc again in Panetolikos’ box teeing up Stefanos Athanasiadis, but the latter’s shot was saved by Rafael.
In the second half, he engaged in his usual runs down the flank and came close to making it 2-0 in the 52nd minute, after evading his man-marker, however he misplaced his shot. Five minutes later, he was on target but was ruled offside.
In the poll conducted by paokfc.gr, Mak got 36% of the vote, leaving Giorgos Katsikas (24%) in second place, the young defender saving PAOK from an equalizer in the last gasp of the game as he cleared the ball off the line. Indefatigable Ergys Kace was third (17%).
