PAOK vs. Hadjuk Split: Facts & Figures

- PAOK started both of their qualifying rounds in Europe this year with a goalless draw, against Beitar Jerusalem at the Toumba, and against Hajduk in Split. The only difference is that with Beitar the first leg was at home, while with Hajduk it was in the first match that took place in Split.
- PAOK have now recorded 22 clean sheets in their 221 total games in Europe, with nine of those coming in group matches and 13 in the knockout stages.
- The first 0-0 in their European history was on September 13, 1972, when they drew with Rapid in Vienna and in the second leg at the Toumba the 2-2 draw meant the team from Austria advanced.
- In 1983-84, in the matches against Bayern Munich in the 2nd round of the UEFA Cup it was the first time that there was a 0-0 draw in both legs of a European tie. The German team advanced via the penalty shootout with an unforgettable 9-8 result in spot-kicks for the Germans. The first match was at the Toumba and the second leg in Munich.
- In 1990-91, the scene was repeated, with PAOK drawing 0-0 in Seville and in the second leg in Thessaloniki, the match was again goalless and finally the Spaniards took the qualification 4-3 on penalties.
- There was also a «double» match without goals being scored in the group stage, since in 2020-21 in the Europa League both games with Granada had ended without goals.
- PAOK’s last 0-0 before this year’s results was on November 25, 2021, at Slovan Bratislava – PAOK in the Conference League groups.
- Razvan Lucescu will sit in the PAOK dugout for the 201st time and this includes the match between PAOK and AEK that was interrupted and later abandoned in the Super League championship in the final minutes. The match between PAOK and Olympiacos is not counted for the championship as the match had not kicked off.
- Of these appearances, 36 are for PAOK’s European matches and his tally is 14 wins, 8 draws and 13 losses. With a total of 200 matches, he is in second place on the all-time list of Double-headed Eagle coaches, behind only Angelos Anastasiadis, who has 214 matches under his belt.
- PAOK have played a total of 221 matches in European competitions, where they count 81 wins, 64 draws and 76 losses, while the goal difference is 294-277.
- PAOK have now faced four teams from Croatia and have two wins there – with Dinamo Zagreb and Rijeka, but also a defeat against Lokomotiva. They have recorded two qualifications in the qualifying rounds (Lokomotiva – Rijeka), while against Dinamo Zagreb the matches were for the Europa League groups.
- This is the first match between PAOK and Hajduk in Greece, with the Croatians having previously faced other Greek teams in the past. Their first experience in our country was with OFI, who they eliminated in the 1986-87 UEFA Cup, while in the 1995-96 season they were eliminated by Panathinaikos in the Champions League qualifiers and in 2010-11 they suffered two defeats against AEK in the Europa League group stage.
