PAOK B conceded a point to Diagoras in the postponed match from Matchday 9 of the play-outs, which was held on Monday afternoon at the Kampaniakos Stadium in Halastra. Given the pattern of the game, the final 0-0 scoreline did not do any injustice to either team. It’s worth noting that PAOK B currently have 22 points, with Niki Volos on 21. There is one game left for the end of the championship for the Double-headed Eagle, which comes against Niki Volos, in Volos, next Saturday.
It was clear that PAOK B had more freedom of movement, although the first 45 minutes saw few chances in front of the two goals. A shot from Hurtado and a free-kick were essentially the only two attempts, while Diagoras threatened once with Balomenos saving comfortably.
The second half began with Hurtado being sent off in the 48th minute, due to receiving a second yellow card, which then allowed the visitors to search for a goal with more ease, albeit without actually threatening PAOK B a great deal. Even with 10 players, PAOK B were still the better side, although they were wasteful in the final third. Of course, they did almost concede a goal in the dying moments of the match, but Balomenos made an excellent save. In the final reckoning then, the 0-0 results was a fair one in the end.
A highlight from the game was the return to action after a long-term recovery from injury for Vassilis Kitsakis in the final minutes of the match. Almost a year has passed since his injury.
PAOK B: Balomenos, Filon (85′ Kitsakis), Bataoulas, Sinanai, Tsaousis, Grosdis, Tsopouroglou (80′ Kalogiros), Adam (62′ Scznauczner), Hurtado, Gitersos (85′ Koulouris), Hatsidis (80′ Mythos).
