PAOK Academy get valuable insights from Chelsea and Fulham
Investing in youth football is an investment in the future and the long-term sustainable success of clubs. Development, of course, requires the education and training of executives, something that PAOK Academy places a big emphasis on.
PAOK Network Manager George Gourtsas had the opportunity to travel to England in early April and attend some interesting presentations and discussions with executives from Fulham and Chelsea. He attended training sessions at Fulham’s youth academy, while the head of the football department Hugh Jennings presented the team’s technical planning. Fulham coach Marco Silva was also present, and he spoke about training and tactical issues.
Of particular interest was, of course, the visit to Chelsea’s facilities. Football Development Strategic Executive Sam Poplett presented the strategic planning of the academy and the formation of its operations procedures. The club’s proper functioning was addressed mainly in terms of staffing and the evaluation of both human resources and training procedures.
