Preparations for the derby
The team’s European adventure ended somewhat ingloriously. A poor performance in Bucharest against FCSB, a second defeat and elimination from the 2024-25 UEFA Europa League being the result. Now PAOK only have the Stoiximan Super League title to aim for and must react and turn the situation in their favour. The first challenge? A derby in Piraeus against Olympiacos.
The preparations for the big battle against Olympiacos began on Friday afternoon (21.02) in Nea Mesimvria. The players who were in the starting lineup for the match in Romania followed a recovery and rehabilitation program, while the rest of the squad worked on the training pitch in the area of tactics, while they also played out a friendly contest.
Dejan Lovren was the only player who did not follow the regular training program, as Shola Shoretire and Jiri Pavlenka both resumed full training.
On Saturday (22.02) PAOK will train at 15:00 and then depart on a charter flight to Athens from Macedonia Airport.
