- PAOK face FCSB for the second time in the same season. The two teams met on Matchday 2 of the League Phase of the 2024-25 UEFA Europa League and the Romanian team won 1-0 at the Toumba.
- FCSB were also the first Romanian team that PAOK had faced in European competitions. This had happened in the 1970-71 season in the Exhibitions Cup.
