PAOK vs. Ferencvaros: Facts & Figures

- PAOK face Ferencváros, who are the the third Hungarian team that the Double-headed Eagle has faced in European competitions. Essentially, all three of the ties were for the UEFA Cup and its evolution.
- In November 2003, PAOK faced Debrecen in the UEFA Cup, from which it was eliminated on goal difference, a practice which has now been abolished. On November 6, 2003 two teams drew 1-1 (18’ Karadimos – 26’ Boiszak) at the Toumba and in the second game in Hungary the score remained 0-0, as a result of which Debrecen qualified for the 3rd round of the competition.
- PAOK’s next meeting with a team from Hungary was in the 2018-19 season, when in the group stage of the Europa League they faced Vindi, whom they defeated twice. The first match on October 25, 2018 saw the home side win 2-0 at teh Toumba and the second leg in Hungary on November 8, 2018 ended with a 1-0 result. Neither team qualified from the group for the next stage of the competition, however.
- This will be the first time that PAOK will face Ferencvaros, who have faced five Greek teams, having previously faced Panathinaikos (1965-66), Panionios (1971-72), Olympiacos (1996-97 and 2023-24), OFI (1997-98) and AEK (1998-99).
- From these visits to Greece, Ferencvaros have registered three qualifications and three eliminations. In total, over 11 matches, they have five wins, two draws and four losses.
