Another defeat for PAOK B

PAOK B suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in the Super League, losing 3-1 to Makedonikos in the Matchday 12 clash in Efkarpia. After 12 games, the Double-headed Eagle remain stuck on 14 points…

In essentially the first phase of the match, in the second minute, Makedonikos took the lead via Leonidopoulos. Not only did they surprise PAOK B and continue to threaten, but in the 16th minute they doubled their advantage with a penalty that Tavares won and took, even though Monastirlis guessed correctly.

Unfortunately, PAOK’S second string seemed unable to react, and conceded a third goal in the 18th minute, with Giakoumakis’s placed effort. Two minutes later, PAOK B won a penalty (following a handball by Pantekidis) and had the opportunity to reduce the deficit with Hurtado finding the net from 12 yards. In the 33rd minute, the visitors almost scored a second goal, but Talichmanidis saved from Kanis, who was in an good position when he collected Sinanai’s pass.

PAOK B had no choice but to try and take action on the pitch and find a way to react. In the 50th minute, they had a good chance through Kanis, but Talichmanidis cleared the ball for a corner, and in the 55th minute, Kanis missed a very important opportunity to reduce the deficit even further.

In the 74th minute, Polykratis – in his first professional appearance – back-heeled for Rumiantsev inside the penalty area, but the latter’s shot was blocked. This was preceded by an excellent save by Monastirlis from a direct free kick by Topalidis. PAOK B looked for another goal, and came close via Adam in the 86th minute and Hurtado in the 92nd minute, but despite the five minutes of injury time the score remained the same…

The next game is against Kampaniakos in Efkarpia.
