Heavy defeat for PAOK B

PAOK B had a tough afternoon in Efkarpia, suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against Niki Volos, even though – as oxymoronic as it may sound – they had a good first half, essentially paying for their mistakes and inaction in some key moments which proved to be decisive.

Although the team started well in possession, creating chances and Kanis missing a penalty in the 16th minute (which was won by Rumiantsev), they found themselves chasing the score from the 21st minute following a wonderful goal score by Aponsa.

Then, in the 30th minute, Filon was unable to beat Tselios, and shortly afterwards in the 33rd minute punishment came, with Balomenos initially repelling Bernardos’ shot and Tsiligiris collecting the … rebound and making it 2-0 to the visitors from close range. And as if that wasn’t enough, Niki Volos also won a penalty in the 36th minute (from Sinanai’s foul) with Doumtsis scoring for 3-0, which was also the half-time score, although the Double-headed Eagle hit the post with Rumiantsev in the 43rd minute.

PAOK B did not react the way they would have liked in the second half, or to be more precise, thry did not manage to get into the game, despite having two good opportunities to do so, in the 59th and 64th minutes with Hurtado guilty of some profligacy in front of goal. On the contrary, the visitors were easily able to counter-attack and what they did not do in the 75th minute, due to an impressive save by Balomenos , they achieved in the 76th minute with Aponsa heading in a corner kick, making the final score 4-0.

The next game for PAOK B is next Monday (09.12) against Makedonikos.
