PAOK B beaten by AEL [with pictures]
Far from their usual selves, PAOK B were defeated 1-0 by AEL in their Matchday 8 Super League 2 contest, which took place at midday on Saturday at the Makedonikos Stadium.
The first 45 minutes did not develop well PAOK B, as the visitors took control of the ball from the start. They could not get themselves into good shooting positions, however, except on two occasions (in the 33rd and 37th minutes), when Filon and Balomenos were there to block respectively.
However, from a set-piece, in the 41st minute, Vafeas headed home to open the scoring making it 1-0 for AEL.
PAOK B did show a willingness to respond, but in truth they did not manage to threaten the opposition goal. The visitors continued to dominate possession, and looked the more threatening side, but one goal proved enough to clinch the win.
The Double-headed Eagle could have equalized via Hurtado in the fourth-minute of added time, but in the end PAOK B had to taste defeat for the second time in the league.
