- PAOK are facing an English team for the fourth time in their history in Europe. All of them have been in the UEFA Cup and the competitions evolution, the Europa League.
- PAOK first met Arsenal in the 1997-98 season in the first round of the UEFA Cup. The match at the Toumba Stadium ended with a 1-0 victory for PAOK thanks to a goal by Kostas Frantzeskos, while the Double-headed Eagle qualified after claiming a 1-1 draw in England with the goal scored by Zisis Vryzas.
- The matches against Tottenham in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League of the 2011-12 season followed, when the first match at the Toumba ended in a 0-0 draw, while PAOK then won 2-1 in England thanks to goals from Salpingidis and Athanasiadis despite playing with ten players from the 37th minute, and they advanced to the Round of 32 phase of the competition. Tottenham’s goal was scored by Modric from the penalty spot.
- In the 2018-19 season they were drawn in the same group as Chelsea in the Europa League and it was the first time they were beaten by an English club. Chelsea won 1-0 at the Toumba Stadium on 20 September 2018, and then 4-0 in London on 29 November 2018.
- Manchester United are the fourth English club that PAOK will face, and it’s the same case for the Manchester club with Greek teams. United have previously faced Athinaikos, Panathinaikos and Olympiakos.
