The Super League’s «little ones» enter the… battle
The Super League will also have an Under-15 category as well this season, a development that PAOK welcomes with enthusiasm, given that the format of the groups was not competitive for the club. PAOK – the current champions of the category – enters the battle fr the championship on Matchday 8 with a home game against AEK (Saturday 19.10, 11:30, Efkarpia stadium).
The championship actually started on October 12 on Matchday 4, however PAOK’s game against Panathinaikos was postponed (a new date will be set), at the request of the «Greens», after the tragic death of George Baldock.
There are 13 participating teams (PAOK, Olympiacos, AEK, Panathinaikos, Aris, OFI, Atromitos, Panserraikos, Lamia, NFC Volos, Athens Kallithea, Asteras AKTOR, Panaitolikos), and 26 matches will be played with one rest matchday for each team.
The Under-15s profile
The squad for the 2024-25 season is made up of youngsters born in 2010, most of whom have been training at PAOK from an early age, while there are quite a few new additions this year. And so, nine talented youngsters joined. These are defenders Alexios Baibourdis from PAOK Diaplasis, Athanasios Floros from Aegio and Thyella Aegiou and Georgios Patsalidis from PAOD. Midfielders Arby Luskas from AE Neo Sindou, Nikolaos Lefas from Nicosia and THI Lakatamias and Panagiotis Hariadis from FAS Naoussa also came. Plus three additions of strikers, Christoforos-Anastassios Zekkas from the Champions of Pefko, Konstantinos Georgousis from Athens and Elpida Agioi Anargyroi and Anastasios-Stylianos Mantis from Athens (he played for Ermilios Chalkidas).
Five of the youngsters are living in the Academy House, Vertkas, Floros, Hariadis, Georgousis and Mantis, while Vatsos travels to and from Kilkis, the Kogalidis cousins in Lagadas, Nikiforos in Malgara, and Luskas in Sindos.
Also, Vatsos, Nikiforos, Floros, Douralis, Verindiano, Stavros Kogalidis and Luskas received their first call-ups to the Greek Under-15 squad.
The squad includes the players from last year’s Under-14 team, who lost on penalties in the epic final against Aris.
