PAOK B win 3-1 at Kabaniakos [with pictures]

Looking in much better shape, and in exuberant mood as it turned out, PAOK B beat Kampaniakos 3-1 in Halastra on Matchday 4 of Super League 2 and moved on to eight points for the season so far.

Imposing from the first whistle, PAOK B managed to win a penalty in the second minute with Hurtado being fouled in the box. Kanis converted the spot0kick, which added even more dynamism to the visitors’ game, with attacks and chances created at a blistering pace. Smyrlis went close with a shot that went wide in the 19th minute, and in the 35th minute, first with Hurtado and then with Smyrlis, whose shot was blocked by Giakoumis. The pressure paid off in the 43rd minute. Kanis and Tsopouroglou combined well, the latter made the first shot, and on the rebound from the initial save by Giakoumis, Grosdis was there to make it 2-0.

In the second half, PAOK B continued to threaten and at the same time managed to keep the hosts at arm’s length. In the 51st minute the visitors essentially «locked up» the game, when Hurtado stole possession, raced clear and scored an excellent goal. PAOK B had the chance to score another goal, in the 80th minute, with Rumiantsev’s shot that was first saved by Giakoumis and then … cleared off the line via the woodwork. Kabaniakos did manage to reduce the deficit in the 90th minute via Diamantopoulos.

The next game for PAOK B is at home against Diagoras.
