Pavlenka joins PAOK
PAOK announces the acquisition of the Czech goalkeeper, Jiri Pavlenka, on a free transfer. Pavlenka has signed a one-year contract with PAOK with the option to extend for another season, and he will wear the number 1 shirt.
Jiri Pavlenka was born on April 14, 1992 in the Czech Republic and started his career with Banik Ostrava, where he played from 2012 to 2016, making 68 appearances with 18 clean sheets.
In 2016, he transferred to Slavia Prague. He stayed in Prague for 1.5 years, played in 41 matches, keeping 19 clean sheets and helped the team win the Czech championship.
In 2017, Pavlenka made the big move to Germany, moving to Werder Bremen. He played in the Bundesliga for seven seasons, making 221 appearances and keeping 44 clean sheets, being one of the top goalkeepers in the league.
At international level, Pavlenka has played for the Czech national team 21 times.
