International call-ups and fixtures
The first international break of the season is here and there are several PAOK players who have been called into their national team squads. Giannis Konstantelias was called up by Greece boss Ivan Jovanovic for the two matches against Finland (at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, 07.09, 21:45) and against Ireland (at the Aviva Stadium, 10.09, 21:45).
Andrija Živkovic also has two games ahead, as Serbia host Spain on 05.09, while on 08.09 they travel north to face Denmark.
And Kiril Despodov , of course, has obligations with the Bulgarian national side also in the Nations League. On 05.09 it’s Belarus – Bulgaria (the match will take place in Hungary) and on 08.09 it’s Bulgaria – Northern Ireland.
Dominik Kotarski was called up to the Croatia squad for the Nations League matches against Portugal on 05.09 and against Poland on 08.09.
Mady Kamara travels with the Guinea national team to compete against Congo on 06.09 and against Tanzania on 10.09. Both games are for the qualifying phase of the Africa Cup of Nations.
PAOK’s latest acquisition, Omar Colley , is also an international player, and he will join the Gambia national team for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Comoros on 09/04 and Tunisia on 09/08.
Konstantinos Balomenos and Lefteris Tasiouras have been called up to the Greece under-21 squad for the away match against the Faroe Islands on 10.09 (18:30). This is the 14th matchday of the EURO 2025 qualifiers.
There is also a black and white flavour to the Greek Under-19 side by the new coach Vangelis Moras for the upcoming training camp, which will be held in Athens from 6 to 10.09, as part of the preparation for the first qualifying phase of the EURO Under-19 Championship which kicks off November (13-19 /11/2024). Those called up are Stathis Beleris, Dimitris Bataoulas, Giorgos Kosidis, Konstantinos Polykratis, Marios Kalaitsidis, Grigoris Politakis and Anestis Mythos were invited.
Also Hermis Selimai is already in the Albanian Under-21 squad for the qualifying match of EURO 2025 against Switzerland (06.09), Maximilian Scznauczner was also called up to the Polish Under-19 squad for the Slovenia Nations Cup tournament, which will be held in Ljubljana from 5 to on 10.09, with Slovenia, France and Kazakhstan also taking part.
Finally, Evangelos Gioka was called up to the Albanian Under-17 squad for the friendly games against Luxembourg on September 4th and 6th.
