Koulierakis wins Fans’ Man of the Match award
Konstantinos Koulierakis came out on top in the paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App Fans’ Man of the Match vote for the first leg of the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League 2nd qualifying round tie against Borac Banja Luka at Toumba Stadium.
PAOK were clearly superior to Banja Luka at the Toumba, completely dominating the pitch, creating chances, and in the end they won 3-2 and took the first step towards qualification.
Koulierakis was one of the major protagonists for his team. The Hammer made it 1-0 with a superb header in the 17th minute and in the 32nd he followed up with another header to put PAOK back in front. The Greek defender produced an excellent all-round display apart from his goals, putting in the running, pressing and also winning most of his duels.
In the poll for the Fans’ Man of the Match, it was Koulierakis who collected the majority 58.41% of the public’s votes and claimed the first individual award of the season.
In second place was William-Troost Ekong, who also scored the winning goal in the 51st minute, while Kiril Despodov completed the podium with another impressive performance that was accompanied by two assists.
