Despodov’s outside of the foot special
Kiril Despodov’s wonderful goal against Panathinaikos is the Regency Casino Best Goal of March according to your votes.
With a very good performance at the «Apostolos Nikolaidis», PAOK beat Panathinaikos 3-2 on Matchday 3 of the Play Offs in hte Stoiximan Super League. Of the three goals scored by PAOK, one that stood out was Despodov’s strike, and it eventually won the prize.
The Bulgarian winger found himself in space at the penalty spot in the second minute, Rafa Soares saw him, passed the ball in his direction, and Despodov foiund the net with a powerful and flawless finish with the outside of his boot to make it 1-0 and lay the foundations for the victory.
In March’s Regency Casino Best Goal voting, Despodov collected 53.2% of the vote to claim the individual award, with Brandon’s header against Dinamo Zagreb coming in second and the Spaniard’s effort against Panathinaikos in third.
