The first important three-point haul for PAOK B [with pictures]
The first Play Outs match for PAOK B, and the first three points. The Double-headed Eagle secured an important 2-1 win over Aiolikos on Matchday 2, and the team already have hteir eyes on next Wednesday’s game against Kozani. PAOK B are currently first with 18 points.
It was a tense game during the first 15 minutes and it was a largely balanced one. PAOK B were looking for the corridors to goal and began to press their opponents, without however ending up with creating many threatening final goal attempts. In the 29th minute, however, PAOK B did find the goal thanks to Quagliata providing a cross for Selimaj to score and make it 1-0.
PAOK B started the second half with more confidence. And it was this confidence that brought better circulation of the ball and eventually saw them get a second goal in the 57th minute, when Kanis squared the ball inside the area for Darelas, who was able to stay on his feet and slot home to make it 2-0. Aiolikos were reduced to 10 men due to the dismissal of Benitez for a second yellow card offence given for a tough challenge on Giaxis, however they threatened in the 66th minute with Panagiotou clearing the ball off the line. The visitors did manage to reduce the deficit to 2-1 in the 93′ with Sarantidis the man on target.
