Brandon Thomas produced a great piece of play in the game against Panathinaikos at the «Apostolos Nikolaidis». Rafa Soares fed him the ball in midfield, the Spaniard dummied and let the ball run on to beat Jedvaj, then he passed the ball between the legs of Cerin and eventually won his duel against Vagiannidis. The ball then found its way to Rafa Soares, who crossed into the box for Despodov who made it 1-0 to the visitors with a superb finish.
Konstantinos Koulierakis is also a contender for the award. The young stopper has proven how capable he is in duels and in the match against Panathinaikos he made a pivotal tackle. Jedvaj won a header in the box, Kotarski saved, and the rebound ended up at his feet again with the PAOK goalkeeper on the ground and helpless. The Panathinaikos defender was set to score an easy goal, but The Hammer reacted quickly, with the Cretan defender making a crucial block to prevent an equalizer.
Finally, Dominik Kotarski is also not missing from the conversation. The Croatian goalkeeper produced a great save to deny Sucic’s brilliant placed effort with his fingertips in the return leg against Dinamo at Toumba Stadium and kept his team intact at a pivotal point in the game.
