PAOK slip to defeat in Livadia [with pictures]
PAOK B, who were missing several key player, had an unexpectedly difficult afternoon in Livadia, losing 3-1 agianst Levadiakos. The team’s focus now turns to the last game of the regular season against Niki Volos, ahead of the start of the Play Offs and Play Outs.
The home team started strongly, threatening Balomenos’ goal, with the PAOK B goalkeeper reacting correctly on two ocassions to deny Levadiakos. In the 25th minute, however, Dago headed the home side in front. PAOK B tried to keep the ball afterwards and even came close to equalizing in the 35th minute with a double chance from Shapovalov and Kanis. However, Levadiakos were the team who found a way to score again in first-half added time, with Romo’s header making it 2-0.
The pattern of play in the second half was similar, with PAOK B’s defensive line, and in particular Balomenos performing impressively when the home side threatened. The third goal for the hosts, however, did finally come in the 67th minute from Kostis, while in the 82nd minute, with a double effort and after an assist from Spyrakos, Panidis reduced the deficit for PAOK B, making it 3-1. PAOK B finished the game with ten players, as Sinaiai was sent off in stoppage time.
