PAOK B defeat Makedonikos 2-0 [with pictures]
PAOK B picked up three important points, but above all put in an excellent performance on Sunday afternoon. Alexis Alexiadis’ side beat Makedonikos 2-0 and are now already turning their attention to the next game in Karditsa.
The first 20 minites saw the two teams feeling each other out, with PAOK B, however, almost scoring on two occasions. The first opportunity came in the 13th minute, with Kanis coming close with a free-kick, while the second was a shot from Darelas in the 20th minute. The deadlock was finally broken in the 26th minute with Goumas surging into the left side of the penalty area before firing in a shot which went in via deflection off Gromitsaris.
The Double-headed Eagle second string continued at the same tempo and in the 35th minute, Goumas scored with an impressive shot that gave the Makedonikos goalkeeper no chance.
The pattern of play was similar in the second half with PAOK B controlling the game and even coming close to a third goal with Darela’s shot in the 47th minute, which hit the crossbar. The visitors responded with some pressing, also registering some threatening phases of play, but they could not break through the home defensive lines.
