The Double-headed Eagle scored 115 goals in 55 games in total in 2023. Nine goals from teh competitive months of play won the monthly awards, but only four of them are in contention for the Best Goal of the Year. So let’s take a look at them in detail.
Not one, not two, but five efforts from Andrija Zivkovic . Zile is the team’s top scorer along with Brandon for the calendar year of 2023, and he has won the Goal of the Month award five (!) times. His first goal in the 3-0 away win over Panathinaikos, which featured a perfect combination play from PAOK, the excellent lob against Ionikos, the impressive goal in Scotland against Hearts, and the two flawless, placed efforts against PAS Ioannina and Panathinaikos are the goals with which the Serb will battle for the award.
Second in monthly awards is Magomed Ozdoev , with two wonderful goals. The Russian is nominated with his goal against Olympiacos at the «Georgios Karaiskakis», which came after the excellent individual play by Ioannis Konstantelias, and his briliant header against Kifissia.
Taion is next up. Zile sent over a cross from the left, and the ball ended up with the Brazilian and he scored with an impressive finish to make it 1-1 against Aris at Toumba Stadium.
Finally, there is Narey’s perfect finish against AEK at Toumba Stadium after the magical juggling act and assist from Konstantelias.
