Vote for December’s MVP
December was an excellent month for PAOK, and paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App need your votes to pick out this month’s top player.
Razvan Lucescu’s team are in great form and they keep proving it with every performance. In December, the Double-headed Eagle were at 100%, winning five out of five matches, scoring a total of 18 goals and conceding only three. The black and whites finished first in their UEFA Europa Conference League group, setting an all-time record for points collection. They are also top of the Stoiximan Super League, setting another record for their biggest away win, beating Kifissia 6-0. And so it is logical that there are many players who stood out. It’s time to help us find the best of them all.
Taison is the first contender. The Brazilian, winner of the award for two consecutive months, October and November, impressed for yet another month. He appeared in three of the five games in December, dished out two assists and tormented every opponent in his path.
Next up is Ioannis Konstantelias. Mr. Breeze was a joy to watch, starting all five games, logging 419 minutes of action, scoring three times and dishing out two assists. He was named the Fans’ Man of the Match three(!) times by PAOK supporters, and continues to prove to everyone that he is a key player for the club.
The third contender is Kiril Despodov . Another player with a steady rise through the season. The Bulgarian winger had three goals and four assists in the team’s last three games, was full of running, tackling and helping the team in all areas. The highlight was the game against Kifissia, with the Double-headed Eagle scoring six goals and Despodov scoring one and serving up three assists.
Thomas Murg is next in contention. The Austrian has been delightful this season. He’s having a great campaign, and is constantly improving. His presence is pivotal in the team’s midfield, where he is involved in all phases of the game, and he constantly shows composure, endless passion and stacks of energy. In December, Murg scored four goals and distributed one assist.
The top five is rounded off by the Russian midfielder Magomed Ozdoev . «Mago» has been outstanding over the past month, playing the role of the team’s driving force. Showing intelligence in attack, consistency in defence, and a cool head in difficult moments. Ozdoev scored two goals and kept his foot on the gas, participating in all five games.
