Both dominant and efficient, PAOK’s Under-19 side moved to the top of the table after completing a 6-1 victory over Asteras Tripolis in the previously postponed match from Matchday 1 of the Super League, which took place on Saturday morning in Souroti. PAOK now have 27 points, with Asteras on 26 points and Olympiacos third with 23 points.
Petros Tsiapakidis’ team gave the opposition no room to get settled, took an early lead, reacted strongly when Asteras responded and pulled a goal back, and continued with momentum, eventually reaching six goals, three of which were scored by Anestis Mythos (a player from the generation of 2007).
Tsobanis opened the scoring in the 26th minute from Kalogiros’ assist, and in the 29th minute Mythos made it 2-0, after taking advantage of the rebound from Filon’s shot that was saved by the opposing ‘keeper. The visitors reduced the deficit on 30 minutes, but a minute before the end of the half, Mythos made it 3-1 from close range. In the 51st minute, from a fine Papageorgiou pass, Hatsidis scored the fourth goal for PAOK, while he also won the penalty which was converted by Adam in the 88th minute. Finally, in the 92nd minute, after a ball from Polykratis, with a great piece of play, Mythos scored his third goal and his team’s sixth.
