New season, new championship for the Under-15s

There’s been a complete restructuring of the Under-15 Super League for the 2023-24 season with 15 teams in a three-phase system, which will provide more games and more competition. It all starts on October 14-15 with PAOK, the current champions of the division, hosting Lamia (14.10, 15:00). Twelve of the 14 Super League 1 clubs are participating, Panionios, and for the first time Makedonikos and Panachaiki.

The championship will be held in three phases. In Phase I, the teams are divided into two groups (A’ and B’) based on geographical criteria. Group A includes AEK, Asteras, Atromitos, Olympiacos, OFI, Panathinaikos, Panachaki and Panionios. In Group B, PAOK will face AriS, Volos, Makedonikos, Panserraikos, PAS Ioannina and Lamia.

In Phase B, all groups are divided into four (C’, D’, E’, F’) based on the final standings in groups A’ and B’. Phase 3 is the Final Four, from which the champion will emerge.

In detail, in Phase I, two rounds will be held in each group, where everyone will play against everyone, at home and away. In the 2nd Phase, the first four teams of Group A (places 1 to 4) will be placed in Group C and the remaining teams (places 5 to 8) in Group D. Accordingly, the first four teams of Group B (positions 1 to 4) will be placed in Group E and the remaining teams (positions 5 to 7) in Group VI. Two rounds will be held in each group (home and away matches) and after their completion, the teams that took the first place in Group 3 and 5 will qualify directly to the Final Four. For the other two places in the final stage, single play-off matches will be played as follows:

This year’s PAOK’s Under-15 side are made up of youngsters born in 2009, players who the majority of which have been training for many years at PAOK. This season, we have seven additions. Nikolaos Telidis comes from PAOD, Eleftherios Kondekas from Calcetto FC academy, Christos Demiris from Pro Soccer Academy, Konstantinos Mischos from Chalkida and Ermilios Soccer Club, Aurelio Sefa from Asteras Mesolongiou, Ioannis Topalidis from Katerini FC and Dimitris Mintis from Poseidona Igoumenitsa.
