There was no stress, no threat, and there was no hesitation from PAOK B to play their football and dominate. The result? PAOK’s second string kicked off their Super League 2 campaign in perfect fashion with a 4-0 win over Apollon Pontos.

The start could not have been more perfect for the hosts. With just four minutes on the clock Darelas crossed from the left and Tsopouroglou made it 1-0 with a nicely placed effort. In the 27th minute, PAOK then doubled their lead with Panagiotou’s header from Tasiouras’ free-kick. The Double-headed Eagle still had more to offer in the first half, with Gordeziani scoring in the 42nd minute to send the teams into the dressing rooms with PAOK enjoying a three-goal lead.

The dominance continued into the second half, with PAOK B constantly threatening the visitors’ goal, and soon adding a fourth goal to their tally. After an excellent run from the right, Panidis passed to Darelas, who was fouled in the penalty area, leaving the referee no option but to point to the spot. Darelas dusted himself down and dispatched the penalty to make it 4-0. While there were no more goals to come, PAOK B continued to remain superior and threatening, while the visitors failed to create a clear scoring chance.
