Baba wins Fans’ Man of the Match award
Baba Rahman came out on top in the vote for the Fans’ Man of the Match for the 2023-24 UEFA Europa Conference League 2nd qualifying round first-leg clash with Beitar Jerusalem.
PAOK were clearly superior to Beitar at Toumba Stadium, completely dominating the pitch, and creating many chances. However, a goal was not forthcoming for the hosts, and the goalless draw left everything wide open for the second leg in Israel.
Baba was one of the major protagonists for the Double-headed Eagle on the night. The Ghanaian, in his first game since returning to the club, was in excellent form. Untroubled at the back, he stole possession continuously, pressed high and tried to get forward as much as possible, making himself a constant source of danger for the visitors.
And in the Fans’ Man of the Match vote, it was Baba who collected 64% of the votes to claim the individual award.
The only player who gave Baba a run for his money was Taison, who finished in second place. The Brazilian battled hard, was full of running, and was generally the man who led the team’s attacking efforts to try and unlock the visiting teams rearguard action.
