Another three points for PAOK B [with pictures]
PAOK B continued their winning form with a 2-1 success against Thesprotos on Matchday 25 of the Betsson Super League 2. The Double-headed Eagle have now registered 44 points and are in third place in Group A.
Despite their obvious superiority, PAOK B failed to find the way to goal in the first 45 minutes. The hosts were dominant and monopolized possession and goal attempts, with the highlights being efforts from Darelas in the 9th and Gordeziani in the 11th minute, and then Ouedraogo on 15 minutes, with finally also Chatzistravos in the 43rd minute going close.
PAOK B stepped up the tempo even further after the half-time interval, and immediately got on the scorsheet within four minutes of the restart. Bradonijć’s initial shot was saved by Tsimopoulos’ in the opposition goal, but Gordeziani fired home the rebound to make it 1-0. And the second goal soon followed when Bradonijć won a penalty which was covnerted by Darelas on 55 minutes.
The Double-headed Eagle then contrived to miss a hatful of further chances, the most important perhaps being Gordeziani’s one-on-one effort in the 68th minute. Thesprotos tried to get back into the game and they got what proved to be a consolation goal in the 79th minute through Sani.
PAOK B’s next game is in Aridaia against Almopos next Friday.
