A three-point reaction

With a glint in their collective eyes, PAOK started the game aggressively and imposed their rhythm for the first 25 minutes. Razvan Lucescu’s team missed some important chances, threatened Cuesta’s goal in every possible way, but the goal that would unlock the game did not come, a fact that Aris took advantage of and opened the scoring.

The goal came at the time when everything pointed to the teams going into the dressing rooms at half-time at 0-0. Aris took advantage of a mistake by the Double-headed Eagle defence with Camara  putting the visitors in front in the 45th minute.

PAOK did not give up, however, came out in the second half galvanised and within 15 minutes turned the match upside down.

Initially, from a A.Zivkovic cross, Taison made it 1-1 with an excellent finish in the 56th minute. Four minutes later, Dantas won a penalty after he was fouled by Piersman, and Stefan Schwab made no mistake from the spot to make it 2-1.

PAOK had the right momentum and the mentality, but Aris managed to get back into the game. In the 70th minute, Darida made it 2-2 with a shot from distance, and again made it difficult for the Double-headed Eagle.

In the end, it was Andrija Živković who provided the solution. The Serb made an excellent run down the right and made it 3-2 with a brilliant effort in the 78th minute.

PAOK comfortably held the lead until the final whistle without being threatened as they managed the rest of the game perfectly, with everyone in the PAOK camp celebrating an important victory in the battle for third place, but also for the team’s confidence.

Team lineups:

PAOK: Kotarski, Rafa Soares, Koulierakis, Kedziora, Sastre (79′ Vieirinha), Schwab (87′ Filipe Soares), Dantas, Taison (67′ El Kaddouri), Konstantelias, A. Zivkovic, Brandon (79′ Oliveira)
