Last season Aris managed to win 1-0 at Toumba Stadium in the Play Offs, but this season the Double-headed Eagle won the first match at the «Kleanthis Vikelidis«, while in the regular season PAOK won at Toumba Stadium and claimed a draw at Aris, therefore this season they are undefeated against their neighbours.
- This is the 63rd meeting between PAOK and Aris with the Double-headed Eagle as the home side since 1959-60, when the then Αlpha Ethniki Greek top flight was foremd. PAOKhave recorded 33 wins, 18 matches have been drawn, while Aris have won 11 times.
- PAOK is the leaders in overall league matches played irrespective of venue, as they have recorded 49 wins, 44 draws, and Aris have won 33 times.
- 2-0 is PAOK’s favorite scoreline in matches between the two teams, with that result appearing 10 times. The next most popular score is 1-0 with eight appearances, while there have also been two 4-1 wins, in 2009 and 2012.
- On February 16 1975, PAOK recorded its biggest win over Aris when they won 5-0. The gtoals came from Paridis (23’), Koudas (28’, 52’), Tsiligridis (66’), Sarafis (87’), and that triumphant win saw Branko Stankovic lose his job as Aris head coach.
- Giorgos Koudas has scored five goals in derbies against Aris both home and away. The first came on February 27 1966 at Aris, when he had reduced the deficit to 2-1 in the 42nd minute of a match which PAOK ended up losing 5-1. After that match he scored another four times against Aris and he is the joint-leading all-time scorer along with Giorgos Skartados.
- This is the 5th season that the two teams are meeting in the Play Offs. Aris have participated just five times in previous years in this process after the end of the regular season.
- The first time for Aris was in the 2007-08 season when PAOK did not participate, while they were together in 2009-10 when the Double-headed Eagle won 2-0 at Toumba Stadium and Aris winning 3-2 at home in May 19, 2010 in a match that was in the last round and PAOK had already secured first place.
- This is the 4th straight season they have faced each other. In 2019-20, in the first match against Aris, PAOK prevailed 2-0 (36′ Varela, 44′ Swiderski), while the match at Toumba ended in a goalless draw.
- In 2020-21, PAOK claimed two victories, 1-0 away thanks to Schwab’s goal (8′) and 2-0 at Toumba Stadium with Schwab (69′) and A. Zivkovic (90′) scoring the goals.
- The 2021-22 season was the only time PAOK failed to win, with Aris winning both the first match at home (1-0) and also 1-0 at the Toumba.
