PAOK B gift a point to Diagoras
What had seemed as though it would be an enjoyable afternoon for PAOK B at the Efkarpia Stadium with the hosts 3-0 up by the 53rd minute turned sour in the end. Astonishingly, the Double-headed Eagle threw away the opportunity of claiming three points, allowing Diagoras Rhodes to claw their wayt back and get a 3-3 draw on Matchday 20 of the Betson Super League 2. Next Saturday (22.04), PAOK travel to Larissa to face Iraklis.
PAOK found the goal early on via Darela’s header in the first minute from Ninua’s cross. In the 10th minute, Darelas almost added a second from Tsopouroglou’s cross this time. It was 2-0 soon enough, however, thanks to Panagiotou’s header from Ninua’s assist in the 27th minute.
The game continued at a good pace, with PAOK having the attacking initiative, despite not adding further noteworthy phases in front goal before the half-time whistle.
PAOK entered the pitch with the same attitude in the second half and missed an important opportunity with Gordeziani the guilty party in the 50th minute. The same player, however, did provide the cross for Spyrakos in the 53rd minute to make it 3-0. And that seemed that.
But, in the 65th minute, Diagoras reduced the deficit to 3-1 through Parastatidis, while the visitors then also scored a second goal in the 74th minute via Michopoulos. The Double-headed Eagle began to show signs of some …. disorganization, and this had the natural consequence of conceding the equalizer in the 83rd minute with Lukic the man on target.
On the stroke of full-time, Spirakos hit the crossbar, however it was rather… too little too late, with the final 3-3 score depriving PAOK of the three points that initially appeared to be in the bag.
