In a hugely entertaining and largely balanced game, in which some tension was nevertheless caused due to an incomprehensible decision of the match referee, PAOK B and Makedonikos shared the spoil of a 3-3 draw on Matchday 15 of the Betsson Super League 2 championship.
PAOK B made a strong start opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a header by Darelas, following some nice play down the left and Selimaj’s cross. The guests managed to play their way back into the game and in the 37th minute they won a penalty that Tsoukanis converted to make it 1-1.
In the second half in the 53rd minute, PAOK went ahead again. This time Chatzistravos was the man on target, scoring after a pass by Panidis. However, Macedonikos’ pressure afterwards bore fruit in the 65th minute, when they equalized with Gentsoglou’s header.
The match was evenly balanced until the referee decided to cause some tempers to flare by whistling for a penalty in favor of Macedonikos when it seemed there was zero contact. That led to Tsoukanis converting the spot-kick in the 81st minute to give Macedonikos the lead. Of course, the Double-headed Eagle did not give up the ghost. And in the 92nd minute, Chatzistravos equalized to make the score 3-3, diverting the ball home from the rebound after Tasiouras free-kick which had lead to Kottas‘ attempt on goal which had been saved by the home ‘keeper.
