POAK’s Under-19’s win top of the table derby [with pictures]
Dynamic, confident and dominant from the kick-off, PAOK Under-19’s took the honours in the top-of-the-table derby against Olympiacos, emerging 2-0 winners, increasing their lead at the summit to four points.
In a freezing Efkarpia, Malezas’ and Chatziathanasiou’s players showed stubbornness and determination, scoring a goal in each half to take another important step towards winning the league title.
In the 43rd minute, PAOK found a way to open the scoring. Adam found Kalogiros, and he in turn found Tzimas with a slick pass, and the latter had no difficulty in beating the visiting ‘keeper to make it 1-0.
At the beginning of the second half, in the 49th minute, Smyrlis then made it 2-0 with a wonderful goal.
It should be noted that PAOK also had plenty of other goal attempts, including at least five very good opportunities to score more goals.
