Under-19s suffer second defeat
Although clearly the better side on show, with plenty of good opportunities missed, PAOK’s Umder-19 side were defeated 1-0 by Panathinaikos in Athens with the hosts netting from the penalty spot in the 30th minute.
Malezas‘ and Hatziathanasiou’s team experienced only their second defeat in the championship. Of course, the team remain at the top of the table with 37 points, ahead of Olympiakos on 34 and Panathinaikos on 30 points, with the title race that is promising to be extremely interesting.
PAOK were more threatening but not effective, since even though their statistics recorded 26 goal attempts, the fact that the result was 1-0 goes to show that their threat was not followed through with enough quality in front of goal this time.
